Spring Auto Maintenance

posted on

Before you know it, the Texas summer will arrive. That means barbeques, vacations, long road trips, and of course heat. This spring, the staff at Pueblo Tires & Service wants to make sure your vehicle is ready. Spring auto maintenance is often a neglected service for our vehicles. Check out our auto maintenance tips below and schedule your appointment with us soon.

Get Your Vehicle Ready for a Texas Summer

Oil changeSummer Auto Maintenance in Texas

Engines are complex works of engineering. Most engines today have over 10,000 moving parts. With all that movement, your engine needs superior lubrication to handle the stresses of daily use. Do you know what kind of oil is best for the heat of summer? Let the experts at our shop select the oil best for your vehicle.

Tire Maintenance

A blown tire can ruin more than just your day. Tire trouble can cost you money, time, or even damage your vehicle. Before you head out this summer make sure you have your tires checked by a professional tire technician.

Check Your Tire Pressure

  • The PSI in your tires varies depending on the type of tire you have and the type of driving you do. Normally PSI should be around 30 to 35 PSI. Which means there is 30 -35 pounds of pressure per square inch. Temperature changes can dramatically affect your tire pressure! Proper tire inflation will help prevent uneven wear on your tire tread.

Check Your Side Walls

  • You will be looking for cracks in the rubber, spots that look worn and bends in the wheel rim. Damage to your sidewalls can be the result of poor alignment, low tire pressure, or even careless driving habits. If you notice any of the above on your tires have them repaired or replaced as soon as possible. Thin sidewalls and cracks are the number one cause of blowouts.

Auto Air Conditioning

Your car air conditioning should be checked at least twice a year. We highly recommend that one of these checks be in the spring. During the winter this system is seldom used and needed maintenance might go unnoticed until it’s too late. No one wants to be stuck in a vehicle during the summer heat with a subpar air conditioner. Some of the most common reasons your AC stops working is filters, thermostats, refrigerant leaks, and compressors. We check all of these parts and more while performing a Heating and A/C service on your vehicle. Come see us today or schedule an appointment for your spring auto maintenance in Texas!
